Air Slide (AWB)

If it seems like you’re repositioning your fifth wheel after every drop, here’s the perfect solution. The Fontaine Air Slide makes adjustments faster and easier than ever before. 

Here’s how it works. An air cylinder drives a mechanical linkage to release the slide locking wedges. To protect the stainless steel shaft from corrosion, bending and road spray, the unit operates from a closed position. Special Neoprene® seals keep air in and dirt out. 

The Fontaine® Air Slide Fifth Wheel is available in a wide range of mounting heights and travel lengths to meet your hauling needs.

Application: Tractors requiring frequent fifth wheel positioning for optimal load distribution.
Mounting: A standard NO-SLACK® II or heavy duty 5092 top plate is mounted on standard bracket in a slide rail bolted to the truck frame with outboard angles.
Construction: A high strength low-alloy formed steel top plate with a heavy duty steel substructure. Fontaine's slide mounting bracket is designed with the largest bearing area in the industry. Tapered locking wedges are heat treated for additional strength.

  1. To order an Air Actuated Top Plate replace the “SL” prefix in the Part Number with “AA” (Example: AA6AWB1075048). Add 4 lbs. to shipping weight.
  2. Weights shown are for 6000 Series top plate. For 7000 Series models add 12 lbs. For H5092 Series add 57 lbs.
  3. Complete assemblies with 60" and 72" of slide travel are available as special order items.
  4. All the assemblies are supplied with left-side (driver’s side) release. If right-side (curbside) release is required, replace the “SL” prefix in the Part Number with “SR”.
